Tessa is a registered psychologist with AHPRA and the Australian Psychological Society (APS) as well as an Educational and Developmental Psychologist. Currently she is able to see private clients only as she is in New Zealand doing a great job of renovating her house as well as working as a school psychologist and starting a NZ practice. She clearly is a human who gets stuff done!
Tessa is still an integral part of our team and collaborates on group developments, blogs and other events we are organising. We miss her energy and smile around the practice but she does pop in for visits and to run seminars from time to time.
As a human, therapist and colleague, she is warm, funny, and solution-focused. The BEST cheerleader. She is a proud Mum to Krumm, her delightful Dachshund, and she is a keen traveller and global citizen. Tessa has been involved in developing and integrating initiatives and policies in schools to make them more aware and inclusive, including RU OK Day, LGBTQI+ training, Consent and Personal Safety, and staff training on many mental health issues. She is trained in CBT, DBT and ACT and takes a developmental approach to her work. Tessa is an accredited Mental Health First Aid trainer. Watch this space for training opportunities coming soon.
Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but, importantly, you are not the rain.
